Day 1 Friday 14 August
pm Assemble at Portsmouth for ferry and drive to Caen area.
Day 2 Saturday 15 August
am Pegasus Bridge area, Ranville Airborne cemetery and Merville battery.
pm Breville. Sword Beach and the advance on Caen.
Day 3 Sunday 16 August
am British and Canadian landing beaches. Visit Arromanches Museum.
pm Bayeux Cemetery and Memorial.
Visit to Bayeux Museum (optional visit to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum).
Day 4 Monday 17 August
am German cemetery at La Cambe. American sector.
pm Utah & Omaha beaches, US National Cemetery.
Day 5 Tuesday 18 August
am Visits to additional places of interest.
  Shopping opportunity en route to ferry to Portsmouth.

D-Day, 6 June 1944: the greatest air and seaborne invasion in history changed the course of world events on the now immortal beaches and drop zones of Normandy. After four years of Nazi occupation, the battle to liberate France and Western Europe had begun.

On our easy paced 5-day tour the emphasis is on the landing beaches and inland fighting.

Highlights include:
  • British and Canadian beaches Sword, Juno and Gold; Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches, German Battery at Longues, Arromanches 360 Cinema
  • British airborne landings including Merville Battery, Pegasus Bridge, Café Gondrée, Breville and Ranville – hear about the bold glider assault, and see the first building in France to be liberated
  • American airborne landings including Ste Mère Église, American beaches Utah and Omaha, Pointe du Hoc
  • Visits to key war cemeteries in Normandy including Bayeux
  • Bayeux Memorial Museum included or optional visit to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum
