Tour Code R2NL01

Perhaps no country in Europe suffered more or resisted the German invasion as tenaciously as The Netherlands. On this Remembrance Tour we learn the moving history of Operation Market Garden and the tragic failure at Arnhem - 'A Bridge Too Far'.

We honour the brave men and women of the Army and Royal Air Force who gave their lives as we hear of the epic advance of the ground forces in support of US, British and Polish airborne troops.

Poignant cemetery visits are organised by the hospitable Dutch people, who have never forgotten the Allied efforts to liberate them from Nazi occupation.

Highlights include:
  • Personal visits to any cemetery on the Dutch mainland, courtesy of local Dutch drivers
  • Personal visits on request to war cemeteries at Rheinberg where many RAF crews are buried or Reichwald Forest, the largest cemetery from WW2, in Germany
  • Special Remembrance service with our Standard Bearer at a Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery
  • Arnhem tour featuring 'A Bridge Too Far', The Old Church and the Airborne Cemetery at Oosterbeek
  • Visit the Hartenstein Museum Oosterbeek, formerly the 1st Airborne HQ of General Urquhart
  • Visit the National Liberation Museum Groesbeek
