The largest of the Greek islands, Crete is now a mecca for British and European holidaymakers.
But we should never forget the Battle of Crete in 1941 and this tour honours the British, Australians, New Zealanders, Cypriots, Greeks and Cretans who fiercely resisted but ultimately fell to an overwhelming 10-day invasion by German airborne forces.
Crete is a very special place of Remembrance with 1,502 headstones looked after by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The Cretans will hold Remembrance ceremonies for as long as people commemorate the battle and our flexible itinerary may enable you to make a special cemetery visit.
